It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Chris Mann, retired Professor of English at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, poet and troubadour, died at his home of cancer on 10 March ’21. Chris has was an integral part of Thembisa since the Trust was founded in 1988.
Not only did he encourage the founding of the Trust but recommend the first two, and later, other projects suitable for Thembisa’s support. Through the years he monitored projects supported by Thembisa. We give thanks for his vital contribution and mourn his passing.
